YouTube Best UGC & K-Pop Awards 2011

Last week, Google Korea contacted us saying that we were picked as Youtube Best UGC.
They asked if we could attend the award ceremony.
Best UGC? What is that... Is it a popularity award for getting high views?
Anyway, since it was on a weekday, I was going to turn it down,
but since it could be a once in a life time award, I decided to go.

We were going to go without preparing much, but since it was an award ceremony....
We dressed up... Yerin and the whole family went to the ceremony.

When we arrived at the Google office, Yerin was a super star there! ^^;
There were many employees who came by to see Yerin for themselves, and we were really happy.

But... I thought the ceremony would be small and intimate in some meeting room,
but... There were so many reporters...
And in front of me stood Super Junior's Leeteuk, 2NE1, and 4Minute's Hyuna.

Turns out, the ceremony was during the same time as the Youtube K-Pop Awards.
Right before getting the award, for the first time in my life,
we interviewed with SBS, and later we even interviewed with a newspaper reporter.
Next day, there was a newspaper article~

지난 주에 구글 코리아에서 유투브 Best UGC 에 선정되었다고 연락이 왔습니다.

시상식에 참석할 수 있는지 알려달라고 하더군요.
Best UGC? 그게 뭐지.. 조회수가 높아서 받는 인기상인가?
아무튼 평일이라 거절하려다가, 이 때 아니면 언제 상받겠냐는 심정으로 나갔습니다.

대충 하고 갈려다가, 그래도 명색이 시상식인데..
차려입고.. 예린이하고 온가족이 출동했습니다.

구글 사무실에 도착했는데,
이곳에서는 예린이가 인기스타네요^^;
예린이 직접 보려고 많은 직원분들이 오셔서 너무 기분이 좋았습니다.

그런데, 저는 시상식을 사무실에서 조촐하게 할 줄 알았는데,
신문 방송 기자들만 수십명이 와있고..
바로 제 앞에 수퍼주니어의 이특, 2NE1, 포미닛의 현아가 있네요..

알고보니, YouTube K-Pop Awards 시상식하고 같이 하는 것이었습니다.
시상식전에 난생 처음으로 SBS 카메라 인터뷰도 하고,
나중에 신문기자 인터뷰도 했습니다.
다음날 보니까 이렇게 신문에 기사도 나왔어요~~
Google Korea employees were so kind and took care of us.
They loved Yerin a lot, and it was a great experience.

Here is the trophy and bouquet that we received. Haha, there wasn't a money reward.
But there were visitors' souveniers, so we brought one home.
I hope we can win next year too. Haha.

구글 코리아 직원분들이 너무너무 잘 챙겨주시고,
예린이를 이뻐해주셔서, 정말 기분좋은 경험이였습니다.

상으로 받은 트로피와 꽃다발입니다. 아쉽게도 부상은 없네요 ㅋ
그래도 방문자 기념품은 챙겨서 왔어요~ ^^;
내년에 또 받을 수 있으면 좋겠어요. ㅋㅋ

Happy Birthday 첫번째 생일 축하해~ 예린아

When we found out we were pregnant with our first child, we had jitters…
It seemed like just yesterday she was still in the womb, but it has already been one year since Yerin was born.

In the delivery room when she was born, she didn’t cry which made us worry
(We stayed in the hospital for a week for tests just in case, but everything was fine. ^^)

I still remember being in awe of the tiny, cooing baby…
Then the joy we felt at seeing Yerin roll over, then starting to crawl…

She moved onto solid foods from breast milk,
And now she walks everywhere all by herself.

It felt like Yerin would always stay a newborn baby
But now we’re already celebrating her first birthday.

Looking back on our year, I learned that raising a child is not an easy task.
Before she was born, we imagined what kind of person she would be and worried over how we’d raise her.
But now, we’re thankful that she is growing up healthy and hope she continues to do so.

We’re joyful that she is healthy and happy and we want to celebrate. Is this why they call it a one year celebration?

Yerin, please grow up healthy~

첫 아이 임신 소식을 듣고, 싱숭생숭했던 우리..
배속에 있을때가 엊그제 같은데, 예린이가 태어난 지도 벌써 일년입니다.

분만실에서 태어날 때부터, 잘 울지 않아서 걱정시키고
(혹시나 해서 일주일동안 입원해서 검사해봤는데, 이상없었습니다. ^^)

옹알옹알 거리는 모습이 정말 작고 신기했는데..
어느새 뒤집는 모습에 기뻐하고, 기어다니기 시작한 예린이..

모유만 먹다가 이유식을 먹더니
지금은 혼자서 걷어 다니고 있습니다.

항상 갓난 아이일 것만 같았던 예린이가
드디어 첫번째 생일을 맞이했습니다.

지난 일년을 돌아보면, 아이를 키우는게 쉬운 일이 아니라는 것을 절감했습니다.
태어나기전에는 어떤 사람이 될까 상상해보고, 어떻게 키울까 고민도 많이 했습니다.
하지만, 지금처럼 아프지 말고, 건강하게 자라 주는 것만으로도 감사하고 있습니다.

무사히 태어나서, 일년동안 건강하게 자라주니
너무 기쁜 마음에 잔치라도 벌이고 싶습니다.
그래서, 돌잔치라고 하나요? ^^

Commemorative Photograph for First Birthday - Apple Tree Stduio (사과나무 스튜디오)

In Korea, when a baby celebrates his or her first birthday,

commemorative photos are taken.

Not all parents do this.

We hesitated as well but last week, we did a studio photo shoot.

한국에서는 아이가 태어난지 첫번재 생일이 되면, 기념사진을 찍어 줍니다.

모든 부모가 다 찍어 주는 건 아니지만,

저도 고민하다가 지난 주에 스튜디오에서 촬영했습니다.

We had a photo session for Yerin at Apple Tree Studio.

We had our reservations about getting a one year photo session.
Even after having her first birthday party, we hesitant.
But then we saw other children's photos, and they were so cute that we were having second thoughts.

Apple Tree Studio was recommended to us, so we made a reservation.
Honestly, we were half worried and half excited.

When we finally arrived at the studio, the staff was so friendly and welcomed us.
They led the photo session so professionally.
Yerin and we all had fun.

The photos were beyond our expectations, and we now have a beautiful memory.

If we have a second child, we'll be sure to visit again.

돌 사진에 대해 약간 부정적인 견해가 있어서

돌 잔치를 치루고 난 후에도 망설였는데요.

다른 아이들 돌 사진을 보니 너무 예뻐서, 계속 마음에 걸렸습니다.

지인의 소개로 일단 예약은 하였지만,
솔직히 걱정 반 기대 반 심정이었습니다.

막상 촬영당일 스튜디오에 갔는데,
너무 친절하게 맞이해 주시고, 촬영도 프로답게 리드해 주셔서,

예린이와 저희도 재미있게 촬영했습니다.

기대이상으로 좋은 사진찍고,
아름다운 추억을 남기게 되었네요.

둘째가 생긴다면, 또 들리겠습니다.
